Pink triangle for Russian homosexuals

A new law has passed the russian legislation. It requires Russian homosexuals to wear a pink triangle in public. The law is an addition to the existing federal law banning gay propaganda. It is allowing jail sentences of up to three years in a special camp for homosexuals for not wearing the pink triangle.
“Russia is a country of traditional values,” says Sergei Zheleznyak, the deputy speaker of Russia’s parliament, the Duma, and a member of President Vladimir Putin’s United Russia party. “This has nothing to do with concentration camps” he asserts. „It might be worn in a new stylish way.“
According to the Levada Center, a respected Russian opinion research institute, 42 percent of Russians favor either supression or isolation of gays and lesbians. Five percent say they would have nothing against a “liquidation” of sexual minorities.

Funny how this is the only place I’ve heard of it. Not.
