snowdenInterview

Today Russia for you managed to get an exclusive interview with the whistleblower Edward Snowden in Swaransk, a beautifull little town south of Nischni Nowgorod. The full Interview:

Rfy

Good morning Mr. Snowden, you are well today?

.

Snowden

(laughing) I must apologize. It became a bit sozzled yesterday with Gerard.

.

Rfy

First of all, Mr. Snowden, a very direct question: Are you gay?

.

Snowden

Frankly not. My friend asked me for some time. But I’m sure. If I were, I wouldn’t have taken refuge in Russia.

.

Rfy

Second question: How do you like it here?

.

Snowden

As you can see, Swaransk ist not New York. But I have a very nice neighbor, Mr. Depardieu. Mr. Putin offered me a very distant I think it’s called datscha in Sibiria. I was not to happy with that. But thankfully the German magazin The Spiegel took care and found me this appartment next to Mr. Depardieu. As I’ve learned from neighbors, of which some are fighting in the Donbass region, one of them died there. So this flat became available.

.

Rfy

And how do you cope with the language?

.

Snowden

When I arrived in Moscow I already had some russian skills. It was part of my work. As you remember, I was trained as a spy. In the meantime I have improved my knowledge. Yesterday Gerard and I decided to learn together. Hopefully this will be possible. He told me, that he is not here very often. He’s got a job in a porn production in the netherlands, that doesn’t leave him much time to stay in Swaransk.

.

Rfy

And what are your intentions for the future?

.

Snowden

I’m considering to write a book. RT offered me a series together with Julian, but I prefere to stay out of the public. I got a lot of money from the Guardian and especially from the Spiegel, but it’s boring to stay in Swaransk without anything to do. So I’m going to write down my personal experiences during my escape to russia.

.

Rfy

One more question, Mr. Snowden: You had access to many informations in the NSA. We’ve learned an awful lot about bugging and monitoring in Western Europe and in the USA. But what about Russia? Don’t you know, or don’t you tell?

.

Snowden

You know it. Russian hospitality is legendary and well, president Putin (he smiles) made me an offer that I couldn’t resist. So of course I don’t know.

.

Rfy

Thank you, Mr. Snowden.
